Mission & Values

Art Shanty Projects is an artist driven temporary community exploring the ways in which relatively unregulated public spaces can be used as new and challenging artistic environments to expand notions of what art can be.

Our organization values artists, art in all communities, and the importance of interaction between the two. Through an array of artists receiving fair wages for their work, we broaden perceptions of art while maintaining respect for the environment and communities in which we work.

Open Positions

Art Shanty Projects is seeking people with passion and talent to fill our open Artistic Director and Board Member positions. Strategic expansion of the board and hiring of new staff dedicated to operations and program management continues to open doors for new growth. Challenged to match the needs of increasingly diverse community members, Art Shanty Projects is seeking new talent to help thoughtfully prepare for our future.

Artistic Director

The Artistic Director is responsible for conceiving, developing, and implementing the artistic vision and focus of Art Shanty Projects. This person will be accountable for major decisions about the ongoing development of the aesthetic values and activities of the 2016 On-Ice Program.

More information is available in the job description. Questions and applications should be directed to Monica Sheets, Board Vice Chair. The posting will remain open until August 15, 2015.

Board Members

Art Shanty Projects trustees are guardians of the mission who ensure compliance with legal and financial requirements while also enforcing ethical guidelines.
